2008 OPP Cop Camp

This year, the OPP around Essex County took in 46 eleven and twelve year olds for a five day camping trip to promote leadership. The grade sixes (soon to be grade sevens) were selected for this special once in a lifetime trip when they completed the VIP course at their elementary schools. One student was selected from each school/class to participate in the Laser tag, bowling, swimming, dance, movie watching, and fishing filled week. With quality food from Detective Inspector Tony, Sergeant John, Detective Ron, and Officer Henry, these young adults were set for a week of fun and excitement.

Congratulations to Corey Brideau for receiving the 2008 Essex O.P.P. Cop Camp Happy Camper Award. A grateful thank-you goes out to Sgt. Rick Tonial, Officer Janet and all of the Cop Camp Committee members who gave their personal vacation time up for our kids to enjoy this educational and fun filled week at Camp Cedarwin. What a great way to teach children the importance of team work, values, and discipline. AWESOME WORK!

A special thanks goes out to Sergeant Rick 'Rico' and Miss Janet for all their hard work in preparation for this event. Also, a special thanks to Crystal and Kris for all their hard work on photographing creating the special video, DJ-ing the Dance, and being there to assist wherever possible.
