Welcome to Lakeshore's Community Policing Committee (LCPC)

A partnership between the Ontario Provincial Police (Lakeshore detachment) and community volunteers working together to increase awareness of current events, resolve neighbourhood issues, maintain social order and provide a safe and secure environment for all.

The Committee meets on a monthly basis to discuss its involvement in upcoming community events and to assist the current Community Services Officer / Community Policing Officer (CSO / CPO) in the delivery of the VIP (Values, Influences and Peers) youth programs.

The committee engages in fundraising activities in support of these activities.  Grocery packing and raffles are the major fundraising activities.  Funds raised help support the annual Cop Camp, the Masons' ChIPs initiative (Child Identification Program), Project LifeSaver, the VIP program in our schools and various community events.

Recently, the Lakeshore Community Policing Committee (LCPC) formed a partnership with the Masons to deliver the ChIPs program (Child Identification Program) at community events.  Clinics are held throughout the year in conjunction with community events.

There are five major components: vital child information, digital fingerprints and photographs, video recording, a dental bite impression or Intra Oral Swab for DNA.  The ONLY copy of the data is burned onto a CD and given to the parent(s) or guardian.  Please visit the events page at www.lcpcopp.ca for the date and time of the next Masons' ChIPs clinic.
